      ABSTRACT

      LAFF-MOVIE · See ELTINGE THEATRE.

LANE, BURTON (1912-1997) · Composer Burton Lane has not had as many of his shows produced as his contemporaries, but his shows have all contained superior scores. When not writing for Broadway, Lane had a successful career in Hollywood. Each of Lane’s Broadway scores, written with such greats as Harold Adamson, E.Y. Harburg , Alan Jay Lerner, and Al Dubin, were full of rich, inventive melodies.
