ABSTRACT
Most public agencies do not provide the applicants with copies of the home study, nor do they provide copies of the home study to the judges who approve the fi nal adoption order. Th e reason for that is simple-while applicants have the right to know why they were rejected or approved, they do not have the right to read what their spouse or family members or physician provided to the agency on conditions of confi dentiality.
