ABSTRACT
The term “information” is not only used very frequently in everyday language, it is also a technical term in a wide range of sciences like physics (see Box 3.1), computer science, statistics, cybernetics, communication theory, linguistics, psychology, and economics. Not surprisingly, information is interpreted in myriad ways.
