ABSTRACT

“Lost between Harlem, Mont., and the Canadian line,” read the advertisement, “grain sack marked J. H. Betz, containing piano leg for old style piano. Will finder please notify and receive reward.” Betz, a Montanan, ran the ad in the Eastend, Saskatchewan, Enterprise, December 7, 1916. Probably the least of his concerns was that he ran it in a foreign country. 1
