ABSTRACT

In Play Therapy: The Art of the Relationship, Landreth (2002) stated that if the mental health of future adult populations is to be significantly impacted in positive ways, greater effort must be made to substantially improve the mental health of all children. His position was that the skills of those in the mental health professions must be given away through training to parents, who are in the best position to profoundly impact the lives of future adults. Therapists helping parents to become therapeutic agents in their children’s lives is the most efficient way to significantly improve the mental health of adult populations of the future.
