ABSTRACT
When you grew up, what was considered the most important choice in life (especially for women)? Whom you married. It was love at first sight and happy ever after. A generation ago the average age at which couples married was 23 for males and 21 for females, although many married right after high school (especially when the woman was pregnant). Marriage was the secure foundation, and life revolved around it.
