ABSTRACT

At first, these ideas appeared revolutionary to me. One might imagine a new version of psychotherapy coming from them. A closer look shows that no new therapy is required to accommodate the information presented here. All therapists, using whatever theoretical frame of reference, can use more information about how emotions become linked. Empathy is a therapist’s best tool. Empathy is understanding how natural it is for clients to feel as they do. Awareness of emotional patterns and cycles, healthy and unhealthy, make empathy easier. This information without the rituals can be helpful.
