ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we shall first look at the types of organization in Hazara society and then turn to changes that have taken place in the recent period. As we have seen, my main work was with people from the Dahmarda 1 valley (or, more precisely, Dahmarda-ye Gulzar), in the extreme south (uluswâli) of the district of Jaghori. This choice, resulting first of all from chance encounters, was justified by the intensity of migratory movement among the local population.
