ABSTRACT
This chapter situates the book within the wider context of Saudi politics, international relationships and political Islam. General themes and analysis frameworks are addressed, with the intention of placing this book vis-à-vis available literature. Literature on political Islam, and politics and international relationships of Saudi Arabia is appreciable and wide ranging in its approach, but much of it does not address the particular focus of this book on the Saudi Sunni reformist leadership.
