ABSTRACT
The intention of the IPPC regime is to achieve a high level of protection for the environment as a whole. It meets the requirements of the EC Directive 96/61/EC by applying an integrated environmental approach for discharges to air, water (including sewers) and land; this also involves regard for energy conservation and site restoration which is linked to the contaminated land regime.
