ABSTRACT
As a TA you will be, or already are, part of a dynamic profession that must respond to a full range of external pressures, from parents’ expectations to new initiatives from the government, from inspection to raising standards. Unless you are hooked to rolling news channels, or glued to the DfES website, you’re unlikely to be bang up to date with what’s going on all the time, but that needn’t be a problem. There are plenty of ways of staying in touch with the wider picture in education without becoming a slave to your job!
