ABSTRACT

If you are considering becoming a TA, or have already taken the plunge, it’s important to appreciate that although there are key types of activities that TAs are typically involved in for their work in schools, there is no set list of tasks that all TAs must do. The role is a broad one and schools deploy TAs in the way that works best for them (within reason). In addition, once TAs get into the swing of the job and start bringing to it their own unique skills and abilities, they build a role for themselves in the school that serves to support the pupils, teachers and the curriculum, which is tailor-made for the context in which they work.
