ABSTRACT

For a small minority of students whose behaviour continues to be a focus of teachers’ concerns, it may be seen as appropriate to investigate learning and behavioural issues at the level of the individual and draw up an individual intervention plan. Planning a curriculum to meet particular special learning needs of individual students should take place within the context of the same decision-making processes that relate to teaching and learning for all students in a school. In addition, it must take account of any formal and informal individual assessment of student learning that has taken place, and this should address any statutory requirements.
