ABSTRACT

A large number of decorative works are found in or came from the urban centres and castles of the Military Orders. Several useful studies by art historians have dealt with them in considerable depth.1 Though these are by and large examples of architectural sculpture, there are also a few examples of wall painting. In addition to these works, which may be considered examples of the fine arts, there survive a small number of items found in Military Order sites which fall into the category of minor objects but which are worthy of discussion in the context of a general study of this type.
