ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses two conditions seen with varying frequency in the ICU:
■ Guillain Barré Syndrome ■ Critical illness neuropathy.
Nursing patients with neurological complications can be labour-intensive and stressful. Patients need care and support with many activities of living, while minimising complications significantly improves recovery and survival. Nursing care is therefore especially valuable for patients with these conditions.
