ABSTRACT

At last we’ve arrived at the point where you’ll begin to compose the assignment. You’re still not going to be doing any actual writing, but the next step is the one that will make the whole task easier. And it’ll involve several different types of activity, all of which are identified in a well-known set of categories known as Bloom’s Taxonomy. Benjamin Bloom was an educational psychologist who, in 1956, created his Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. The psychologists among you will be comfortable with its terminology as it deals with overlapping cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains and behavioural paradigms but, as we keep on saying, we value clarity above everything else and so we’ll try to make it more generally accessible.
