ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapter a picture emerged that shows that designers are working in a changing context. Yencken and Wilkinson speak of the movement towards sustainability as a journey, yet in reality sustainability is an outcome of the way in which society lives and works. If sustainability is the destination, then green design and green buildings are aspects of the journey for building designers.1 If this is so, what is the green approach to design?
