ABSTRACT
Inspection has progressively focused its attention on school leadership, usually a reference to the headteacher or senior management team. Leadership is, however, a more complex equation. This chapter considers the role of leadership within the New Relationship and questions the place of the four C’s – consultation, consensus command and control.
