ABSTRACT
I do not aim to resolve the dilemma of affirmative action, merely to explain it by couching it in a distinctive way. The essential dilemma of affirmative action is this: we see that in society there are some groups which are underrepresented and some groups which have been discriminated against, and yet in attempting to redress these imbalances and injustices we seem destined to commit further injustice.
