ABSTRACT

The October Revolution in 1917 marked the decisive beginning of the Bolshevik revolution though not yet its accomplishment. The Revolution did not end until the Civil War was over, i.e. not before mid-November 1920.1 In a way, it was a mass spectacle, The Storming of the Winter Palace performed in Petrograd on 7 November 1920 in commemoration of the October Revolution2 that announced and celebrated the final Bolshevik victory. The revolution was over. Everyday life had to begin anew.
