ABSTRACT
Spanning the trajectory from collectively devised work to collaborative work that includes a directorial role are two performances: Grace & Glitter for Extemporary Dance Theatre (1987) and Back to Front with Side Shows for CandoCo Dance Company (1993). Moving between the two, I came to understand how a director can open the space for process, yet also draw that process into an articulate product.
