ABSTRACT
Interviews are arranged for many purposes. This chapter is about: (a) selection interviews, as for a college or university course, for vacation employment or for a permanent post; (b) oral examinations, in which a student is questioned by an external examiner; and (c) counselling interviews, in which a student seeks help by discussing some personal problem affecting his or her ability to study but not directly connected with the subjects being studied.
