ABSTRACT

The fourth strategic focus is choosing and implementing corporate actions. The issues requiring a decision by an organization can arise from three sources. They are the outcomes, the scenarios or decision matrix derived in the focus on determining the corporate direction through analysis (chapter 9). Second, they arise from critical events that require decision responses occurring on a regular basis in most organizations. Third, they come from the need to respond to threatening situations that face the organization. In the case of critical events or a response to threats, when time permits, they are analysed in the previous focus with a set of alternatives and then are processed in this focus. Decisions and implementation need to comply with the organization’s ethical norms for corporate social responsibility. In this chapter, the decision process, both who and how, and the implementation process are presented and followed by discussion of interlevel interactions.
