ABSTRACT
A professional, technical and scientific association of Finnish graduate civil engineers. (Members of RIL are Masters of Science in building and civil engineering.) Main fields of work The Association: • Develops Finnish techniques and economy in civil engineering • Publishes books, standards and two professional journals • Participates in standardization in close co-operation with the public
authorities • Exercises quality control of certain building materials • Makes proposals and issues expert opinions on matters within the
scope of the Association • Organizes high-standard postgraduate courses and seminars • Holds design competitions • Holds a competition under the title The Construction Engineering
Work of the Year • Co-operates with other national and international societies.
