ABSTRACT
The Developing School is all these things and more. Its distinctive quality lies in its capacity to move forward effectively and according to a particular style, a ‘house-style’. It is a question of generating the common understanding across the staff that this is the way we go forward in this school. Holly (in Reid, Hopkins and Holly, 1987) has referred to this organic approach as a school’s development culture.
