ABSTRACT
The theme of travel or going on a journey appears to be a powerful metaphor for scripted fantasy. The following scripts have forms of travel as their central theme. Perhaps they represent, in some way, a re-enactment of life’s journey or of important episodes during a lifetime. They can be seen as harbingers of change in the sense that at the end of the journey you may be in a psychologically different place or even be a changed person. The journey may therefore symbolically represent an exploration of the self.
