ABSTRACT
Daniel Larrieu has been one of the leading figures of the French nouvelle danse scene since he and his tiny group Astrakan won the prestigious Prix Bagnolet choreography award in 1982. A dancemaker renowned for his witty ironic approach, Larrieu has since choreographed for some of Europe’s leading companies, including Nederlands Dans Theater, Frankfurt Ballet, and the Paris Opéra itself.
