ABSTRACT

Robert North is an eclectic choreographer whose work sits happily in the repertory of both classical and contemporary companies. He is not a choreographer of great individuality, but one whose work appeals to a wide audience. In his shorter works, whether they have a narrative or not, the focus is on the choreography as a response to the music used-but in his 1990’s role as choreographer of full-evening works, North has placed a greater emphasis on production ideas.
