ABSTRACT
Interpreters translate what is said by the lecturer or other students into British Sign Language (BSL) or Sign Supported English (SSE), and will provide a voice-over for the deaf students’ contributions when required. BSL is a language in its own right, with its own grammar, idioms and characteristics. SSE is a form of signed English Language using the signs of BSL.
