ABSTRACT
In this chapter a number of applications are described and the lessons that can be learnt from them about solving particular problems are highlighted. The examples do not necessarily present a complete solution to a problem, nor are the solutions described here the only means of solving a particular problem. However, each of the systems has been n routine use for a considerable time, and, although developed for specific applications, each has a wider degree of applicability.
