ABSTRACT
Animal research should actually gain fresh impetus from the new technologies available in the area of genetic engineering. The development of transgenic animals is a powerful tool for
reproducing human diseases with more accuracy, allowing the expression or the suppression of enzymes, proteins and hormones characteristic of certain human diseases (1990: 1).
