ABSTRACT

During recent years there has been developed a new branch of psychological science popularly known as “mental testing.” Impelled by the practical motive of placing an individual in relation to his fellows with respect to mental capacity and attainment, these mental tests have come to be widely employed. Although the trustworthiness of the tests has often been questioned, their administration has been greatly extended, and they are now generally accepted as the best means we have of predicting an individual’s capacity to perform certain types of work.
