ABSTRACT
I will now investigate whether the epistemological thesis is true and whether psychiatry is a science. We have already seen that scientific method cannot be used to identify diseases-the identification thesis is false. Whether psychiatry is a science leaves untouched the question whether the practice of psychiatry is an art. Even if it is, this has no bearing on whether psychiatry acquires its theoretical knowledge scientifically.
