ABSTRACT
In the grammar of “values,” the most fundamental expression has the form: “X values that ø be characterized by v,” where “X” designates a person and where different kinds of values correspond to different instantiations of ø (Chapter 2). When ø is instantiated by a person’s beliefs or by an accepted scientific theory, the “v” designates cognitive values.
