ABSTRACT

IBM is the world’s largest training provider. Its materials consist primarily of subjects related to the computer and computing, but the ‘softer subjects’ such as management, sales, process and risk management, account for at least one third of the total coverage. Most of this training (about 80 per cent) is carried out face-toface in locations around the world, and the rest consists largely of self-study materials in the form of multimedia CD-ROMs. IBM operates one of the world’s largest data networks-the IBM Global Network. It provides truly global capabilities and is accessible from hundreds of cities worldwide. It provides a full range of network services including leased line and dial access, multiprotocol solutions and wireless communications.
