ABSTRACT
As I try to draw together the disparate themes of this book, I find they coalesce around three issues which are, of course, interrelated. I have looked at them from several angles throughout the preceding chapters, either at a general level in the first part, or at the application level in the second part. In this final chapter, I address these three critical issues directly and give my own views.
