ABSTRACT
Many of those who are worried about the present state of ‘the environment’, and what they see as the catastrophic breakdown round the corner, blame, in one way or another, science. Some think what is needed is reform. We need to retain science, but also bring about internal changes. However, there are others who seem to be arguing for a root and branch elimination.
