ABSTRACT
The project used as its ‘baseline’ the analyses of two Nationwide programmes, one broadcast in May 1976 (an extended analysis of which is to be found in Everyday Television: ‘Nationwide’) covering a fairly representative sample of Nationwide’s characteristic topics, and a second programme, broadcast in March 1977 (a briefer outline of which can be found below: pp. 218-19), which was a ‘Nationwide Special’ on the Budget and its economic consequences.
