ABSTRACT
The tendency of North American management standards to dominate the popular managerial discourse is becoming more and more plain in this sudy. Thus the story told over and over again in popular management books is that the destiny of organisations is a function of the activities taken by their managers. Moreover, it appeared very clearly in Chapter 4 that the authors of books that achieve considerable popularity often happen to be consultants or successful managers.
