ABSTRACT

Although a few specialised toys designed for specific handicaps will be mentioned in the chapter, many of the toys will be those that have already been discussed. The reason for this is that, as with most handicapped children, how you present the toy and help the child to use it is as important as the toy itself. There are some very helpful specialised toys but they are not the main resource: the handicapped child, like all others, will learn most through normal play experience with people.
