Politics and parties in the regions

The previous chapter dealt mainly with political parties at the all-Russian level; the present one seeks to move beyond this, delving deeper into the role played by parties outside the federal centres. This serves as an introduction to the remainder of the study, which uses three case study regions in the middle Volga to analyze the activity of parties at the regional and local levels.
