ABSTRACT

This book deals with problems of management of people-oriented projects in less developed countries (LDCs). These are the projects which refer to activities or sectors such as institutional development, health, family planning, education, rural development, and so on. A case-study is analysed from a health district project in the urban area of Pau da Lima, Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. A period of approximately three years (mid-1989 to mid-1992) is considered. I was on the project staff as a sociologist. The focus of the analysis is on the aspects of informationhandling of this project. 1
