ABSTRACT

Most schools which possess a video recorder will build up small collections of video tapes and will need to rely on local resource centres to provide most of the material they require if they wish to use the video recorder effectively. The resource type of centre seems to have the advantage over a resource centre not responsible for in-service education as help could be given in the most efficient use of video material. The use of the video camera was not specifically studied in the original project a small number of teachers had either used or would have liked to use it. The centre had facilities for recording video material and recorded all the educational television programmes that were shown. The studios were so well equipped that they were rented out for part of the time to the local commercial television company. Two resource centres were visited in 1985 as part of the original project on television and the curriculum.
