ABSTRACT
Fraser’s Magazine could scarcely have been published for fifty years under the control of a variety of editors and proprietors, in a period of radical change, and have remained the same periodical. Nevertheless, if one reads its principal statements of policy in 1830, 1849, and 1879, he discovers three things that its 96 volumes have in common.
