The RIBA’s Meeting the Challenge-a strategy for architecture and architects (1999) recognises that there is a crisis facing the profession and sets out a number of goals to be achieved within the next five years. These goals include the redefinition of the key knowledge and competencies required by architects if they are to operate successfully in a complex and rapidly changing world.
