ABSTRACT
The income and expenditure of the NUPB&PW Political Fund over the period 1955 to 1964 is shown in Table 14.1. The main items of expenditure were affiliation fees to the Labour Party, the Scottish Labour Party, the Northern Ireland Labour Party, delegation fees and expenses, by-election insurance fund premium and grants and donations. At the time of General Elections the union made donations to the Labour Party General Election Fund. The NUPB&PW donated £500 to the Party’s 1955 General Election Fund and £1,000 to its 1959 General Election Fund. In General Election years (1955, 1959 and 1964) the Political Fund spent more than it received in income. NUPB&PW: The Political Fund, 1955–64
