ABSTRACT
In Greek mythology, the role of the ‘death-dodger’ character was taken by Sisyphus. Jealous Zeus had sent him Thanatos (Death), but the wily Greek managed to entice him and take him prisoner. The god of gods then had to send an emissary to deliver Death and thus avoid for humanity the appalling catastrophe that nobody could die any more!
