ABSTRACT

Very few therapies fall into this category, which implies more than a patient being given a remedy which they will ingest. By invasive therapies, I am referring to therapies in which the therapist performs an invasive procedure on the patient’s body. Examples of therapies in this category include acupuncture, colonic irrigation and chelation therapy. The points made in this section might apply equally to therapists (including hands-on/manipulative therapists), who perform invasive procedures as part of their diagnosis, for example, a chiropractor performing a rectal examination in order to assess the positioning of the coccyx.
