ABSTRACT

The main aims of the research reported in this book were to explore the racialised identities of young people of mixed black and white parentage. We wanted to see whether they differed, and to throw some light on the reasons for the differences, and what the consequences of having different racialised identities were. We also wanted to describe their experiences of racism, how they dealt with them, and the extent to which their parents influenced their identities and helped them to deal with racism.
