ABSTRACT

In recognizing the needs of the community and the issues pertinent to that area, information packs were developed to assist community groups in fostering an awareness of accident prevention. Initially a series of ten information packs were developed. It was hoped that the packs would provide a structure to the education process and facilitate the community in identifying their own needs in relation to accident prevention. The information pack had three sections: one providing the facilitator with current information on the specific accident, one on group work, and one on guidelines on how to establish a productive workshop environment and details which permitted the local community members to facilitate other interested groups.
